The child is attached to his mother while he is in her womb before he is born. as the umbilical cord is a link for nourishment . it is also scientifically known that the fetus is affected by the psychological state of the mother and her feelings. and after childbirth, breast milk is his only food. so after weaning, How do i take care of my child in this sensitive period, especially if i am a working woman? How does the mother maintain this strong relationship and reinforce it and take into account the psychological state of the child after weaning ?
How does weaning happen?
Some mothers may resort to this as soon as after childbirth. especially if there is no supply of breast milk , or she does not accept the pain of breastfeeding, or she does not want her body to sag, or she is forced to take medicines or take treatments that prevent her from breastfeeding her baby , or she is forced to separate from her baby because of an accident.
There are several ways to wean a baby
- including coloring the woman's breasts in a color that repels the baby, such as eosin dye
- or put in the nipple something that changes the taste of the milk, such as salt or lemon
But breast milk is the richest food that a baby can eat. Doctors recommend breastfeeding to preserve the health of the baby and the mother together, as the accumulation of milk in the woman’s breast cause the pain for her. it may also have future complications.
Therefore, doctors recommend breastfeeding, especially during the first six months
Changing the psychological state and behavior of the child after weaning
It is known that the child is psychologically affected after weaning him to the breastfeeding mother. This is expressed by
- excessive tension .
- and crying several times a day .
The mother may be affected by the behavior of her child after weaning, so she becomes angry and nervous at the crying of her son, and a tense relationship arises between them
What should the mother do so that this period passes peacefully?
First
The mother must be convinced that the tension, crying and nervousness of her son during the weaning period is a normal psychological state.
- He does not accept that his mother's breast is no longer the means to satisfy his hunger
- It also does not accept that this breast is ugly and not tasty.
Secondly
The mother should start accustoming her son to solid food before weaning. she mixes breastfeeding with solid food. diversity of his food sources, especially juices vegetables and fruits, and sweet foods from time to time. which makes him feel full and doesn't want a lot of milk

The use of tricks that the mother give the child to breastfeed with small flows. or offering him food in a distinctive way by forming animals or things, in addition to talking and joking with him about eating. and bring toys, stuffed toys and animal toys during the eating

Getting the child used to feeding himself what creates his desire to eat, whether by holding him food or holding a spoon or a cup. This behavior creates joy for the child and an improvement in his psyche

Choosing the appropriate time for weaning, where the woman is psychologically comfortable and does not go through a crisis or problems or any change in her lifestyle. the mother or sponsor must also be financially comfortable to diversify the food for the child, especially for the mother who is breastfeeding naturally.

The mother should accept her son's refusal to eat and cry . with the hugs, kisses, talk and play with him.
Seventhly
That weaning does not constitute a problem for the child, as early weaning may cause harm to the child if he suffers from an allergy to solid foods. therefore, it is recommended to consult a doctor before weaning
Eighthly
Observing the child during the weaning period to see if the time is appropriate for that, is it time for tooth eruption ?. or suffers from some health problems that hinder weaning

It is better for the mother to choose a time of breastfeeding that , before the beginning of complete weaning , constituted an intimate time with her child. like early morning or before bed. and keep it with more feelings of love, tenderness and kisses, so that these future breastfeedings will be the last stage in the final weaning process
